Copper Mountain
Near Searchlight & Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave in Lake Mead National Recreation Area - LMNRA

Hike Date: 03/22/06 - Elevation: Elevation: 3214 ft / 980 m - 1st Recorded Ascent: John Vitz 03-31-85 Sierra Club and ascended by local Sierra Club members Howard Booth and Ursula Wilson-Booth in 1985.

From highway 95 in Searchlight, NV (South of Las Vegas, Nevada & Boulder City), head east on the Nipton aka Cottonwood Cove Road following road for 7.9 miles toward Lake Mohave where you will find dirt road (pictured) heading North from highway.

Copper Mountain is clearly visable from highwaylooking North.

Turn off to dirt road (LMNRA #32) is approx. 7.9 miles from Searchlight and high clearance or carefull driving should get you there but please drive responsibly and stay on approved roads. Once on dirt road take a left (LMNRA road #35). We headed west up wash to chocolate colored outcroppings and parked.
